Air Jordan 1
The very first Air Jordan was designed for the legendary Michael Jordan during his early days with the Chicago Bulls. Created by Peter B. Moore, it debuted during Jordan's second season in the NBA.
Interestingly, Michael Jordan never actually wore the Jordan 1 Royal during any NBA games. On the contrary, the iconic black and red Air Jordan 1 has made a comeback multiple times, starting in 1994.
Additionally, the original red and black colorway of the Nike Air Ship, which served as the prototype for the Jordan 1, faced an NBA ban. The then-NBA Commissioner, David Stern, outlawed it because it didn't have enough white on it, a rule known as the "51 percent" rule. Thankfully, they removed this rule in the late 2000s.
